No, only used my normal key, only one with the immobiliser I believe? Engine cuts off if I use the others normally?

Wot lights do you have on the dash when cranking the car over?
these cars do have there problems but there hard sometimes to fault
find unless your lhere :roll:

I think its the usual lights, didn't notice anything weird last time but will check again once it starts again. Just pulled apart that tab now. The contacts in the sensor look pretty clean too

All connections look fine,make sure dissy cap is screwd up fine it could well be the key
thats at fault as mine would crank over fine but not fire up, new key then A1,Timpsons
do a reprogrammed key they use a mazda blank ;)

Those lights kinda stayed on whilst it was starting, used a different key and it didn't start, it popped and didn't turn over very well. The chipped key had it cranking sounding more normal but didn't start. I've just checked the battery and the volt meter was showing it between half charged and very low.

Theres another car here so could potentially jump it? Not sure if that's what it needs tho

Your battery light on the dash should read about m on the normal dial its shows flat as a pancake

So we've just jumped it, it's getting a bit more power now and tu4ning over well but no start :(

Have you a pic of the dash battery dial when turning over? when jumping have you raise the rev,s to 2000
on the other car your using to put a charge into your battery,when it broke down was at night and did the
recovery test the battery

I don't think he did, when hooked up and other car revving the battery gauge goes back to mid or normal. When actually starting the car it goes back to flat or low whilst the key is turned and trying to start - pic below shows it
