Hello!

Post by TrevorH83 » Fri Jul 29, 2022 6:13 pm

Hello Everyone,

I a proud new owner of my first Probe and hence new to the site!

I have a 1995 24V. It’s all original as Ford intended and I’m going to keep it that way. The car is in great condition, precious owners done a fine job of looking after it!

As it’s my 1st one, are the any pointers / things to look out for on the probe? Before I get it on the road, going to do a few little bits such as restore and powder coat the wheels but is there anything else looking at and do whilst it’s off the road?

Also after getting a good old Haynes manual, where would these be best sourced?

Regards

Trevor

Hi Trevor, welcome to the club, as Kit says is worth paying for a full membership.
Couple of things you may what to do depending on the service history (if any) and how long as it been off the road,
Cambelt, water pump, full service plus Blake fuild check.
If your going to keep it original, don't power coat the wheels, get them painted with corse silver (correct paint)

Any picture of your Car,

Pages from Haynes Manual will come in handy to light the fire.

Hi Trev,

You sound like Sue’s friend who has just purchased her car.

As Duncan say we are a friendly bunch and a couple of us are also in Essex.

If it’s that “car”, you shouldn’t need much
May be some ‘dye’ / conditioner for the the grey leather seats ;)

Yes it is indeed Sue’s old Probe!

Given it a good clean and polish inside and out today and starting cleaning the engine bay up too. Indeed going to get hold of some light grey dye, any recommendations?

Just need to get the airbag light sorted and then should be ready to stick an MOT on after some new tyres.

Any initial clues on the airbag light to follow, it flashes once pauses and then flashes 3 more times before a pause.

Thank you all!!
