I swapped the dizzy with a known working item with no joy, cleaned all the connectors again nothing.

What I did notice (eventually) is that when I switched on there's a double relay click, that wasn't happening at all, trial by substitution revealed the black IGN relay to not be working, now whether that's a faulty relay or something else remains to be seen, but there was no evidence of it being swapped out previously.

At least it's running for now, I'll swap the clocks for a 24v set and send it for MOT and see what happens
Will have clocks to you for the weekend mate :D

Just a little clarification on what you have done to get it working.
I think you have replaced relay K51, the relay that feeds power to the Power Control Module , everything 'engine ' needs that , to work.
The ignition circuit needs that AND a separate , very secure circuit , with no easily accessible relay for the thieves to bypass.
No matter , you fixed it , well done again.

Curiosity would have me take the lid off that and look inside.
It is just a coil with a pair of really heavy contacts , something must be badly wrong for that one to fail.
I have a good spare if you need another.

Thanks for the offer I had one on the “parts car”

I’m not sure what I did with it, but if I can track it down (or dig it out of the incinerator) I’ll have a look inside and post a picture. I might even test it in the daily car.
