Immobiliser

Post by simps » Wed May 04, 2022 8:25 pm

Presumably to get to the immobiliser I need to remove that metal shield, or is there another way in?

If so I guess I need to drill out them big rivets, are they hardened or will good sharp HSS bits do it?

Ta v much!

Yep ;)

You may be able to get in there with a small grinder. But remember to use a fire blanket, to protect the carpet etc
This shield, hides the ECU first, the black immobiliser is behind that

Don’t remove it if it’s the Temic system

Don’t let Trev hear you

Plus, of course, the “wrong seat” will be electric

All I’m saying, “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it” :!:

It did and there was

I think I traced the problem to the IGN main relay by a process of elimination.

At least I think it’s the case, it was always an intermittent fault according to the previous owner

Any input would be appreciated though
