hi, i have a 21 fault code. does anyone know where the safer unit is and what it looks like. All the best
The Car is a Ford Probe 16v 1995

I read about this item some 5 years ago so my memory’s rusty but I seem to remember it being on the centreline of the car in a well protected place like the bulkhead though my initial thought was in the area of the slam panel.
I’m in Holland at the mo. Back on Tuesday.
I’ll get the bible out then and give you all the info if no one else jumps in first.
I believe you should be calling it the saffing switch. Also from memory it’s purpose is to confirm - from its position of safety- that it too detected the bump before it will activate the airbags so a secondary system check.

Saffing unit is indeed central to the car and its in the interior behind the center consul bulk head

Does anyone have a photo or a diagram so i can recognise it when i see it, cheers all.

It’s behind the Dashboard, & this has to be removed to access it
