How tricky is it to remove the front splash shields Ie corroded bolts etc

10mm socket , sometimes they do shear off
& 8mm headed screws, I use an impact driver & bit to remove them :)
I just use self drilling TEX screws & washers to put the splash shield back.

I'm with Duncan, can be fun getting them off, in the past I've had to drill them out.when doing the year service, if I remember I remove the hold bolts at a time and cover them with anti seize grease.

Memories , to make the job easier , next time.
Somewhere in Wales, dear old M515 CEW is sitting with tapped holes in 4mm aluminium plates , the plates shaped to fit the curves, the holes
exactly lining up with the stainless hex head screws holding the splash guards in place.
Because once you get one hole positioned the rest line up automatically.
Whoever has her now ?

Hi

I am trying to remove the wheel well covers and have removed the bolts. However the other fixings are of the press fastener type with a cross head screw in the centre(plastic). When turning the centre screw it won't withdraw . is there a trick as to how to remove these if not can they be drilled out and are replacement fasteners available anywhere
