Front control arm bolts

Post by MikeyG » Sat Dec 04, 2021 7:15 pm

Hey,

1995 2.0l

Taking off the front control arms and there's a nut that's impossible to get - I've used the gun on the bolt side to break it loose, but it's just spinning now as I can't hold the nut. See picture for reference.

Any ideas welcome.

Thanks,

Or chisel of the ‘captive’ lips the hold the nut, then try & get a spanner on it

Lots of WD-40 the day before helps

In the past the same thing happened to me, I got a friend to weld the nut in position then removed the bolt,
and on another time I managed to grind down the sides of a spanner to get right in, and used plenty of wd40

Good luck
