Probe aerial problem

I have a Probe 24V 1996. When I turn on the CD player/radio the aerial normally comes up at the back. It is now only coming up a short distance and then gets stuck but you can hear the motor going still. I have to pull the aerial up manually. When I turn the CD player/radio off, you can hear the motor but it does not go down. If I push it down it gets to the bottom and it’s hard to push it right down. When I do eventually push it down the aerial goes in automatically but you have to push it hard. I’ve used WD 40 on the aerial but it has not helped. Anyone got any ideas?

The nylon teeth on the drive are broken
You need a new aerial, or try to repair the one you have got

Definitely interested in the second hand one. Do you access the aerial through the boot?

Anyway let me know about how to get it and payment details etc.

Thanks

Yes access through boot lay rear seat done by antenna, remove parcel shelf, remove rear boot panel/remove side
panel by antenna and your there,10 mm nut holds it in place and plugs,TAKE the top outer antenna cap off your see 2
points on it to use circlip pliers or use a Stillsons but wrap them to save the top ;)
