ABS wheel speed sensors.

Post by eric56m » Sun Oct 24, 2021 11:33 pm

1995 Ford Probe 16v.Please could anyone advise me. Car MOT due soon and ABS light on. Looking to buy wheel sensors in advance, in case they are causing the problem, so as to save my only car being off the road for longer than necessary. Are the corresponding mazda part numbers C0014371Y and C0014372Y correct . Autodoc have these available for Mazda MX6 and 626. Thank you.

Check you codes, it should tell you which sensor if any is causing the problem
The wheels sensor may just need cleaning

Have you checked out rockauto prices

LH Front sensor,
Whip the front wheel off, it's held in by 2 12m bolts, should be able to get to the bolts without removing the caliper and discs, just be careful you don't snap them, work them back and forth slowly then remove the sensor and give it a gentle clean, just check the wire while your work inside the wheel arch.

Arthritic back and neck been playing up, so booked in for garage tomorrow. If a new sensor is needed will a 1996 Mx6 registration provide the right details for obtaining it ?
