Hi everyone,

Im looking to change the rear wheel bearings, i see you buy them as a complete hub assembly.

Any tips for the job?

Kind regards
Chris

Straight forward, to do.
Just need a breaker bar & hub nut socket.
Make sure the car firmly held on axle stand.
Brake disc, pads, carrier & caliper have to come off.
Clean the ABS sensor, change the dust cover if it’s rotten

A fine use for a used brake disc , just weld a 'long-ish' length of angle iron to it.
Place the disc over the studs so that the angle iron touching the ground counters the torque you are applying to that centre nut.
If you succeed in lifting the Probe off the ground you really have a tight nut.

Alternatively the socket for the hub nut fits through the hole in a space saver wheel so you can fit that and crack the nut with the car on the ground - nice and safe, although you will still need a breaker bar and put the car in gear and with the handbrake so it cannot move

I’ve never had any trouble, removing the rear hud nut. :)

Un-like , the front ones. :x
Have, been known to drill a slot in the nut, & split it with a cold chisel, as you can’t get a grinder in at the nut
