If you’re going to change the Fuel Filter,
‘Get at it’, via the wheel arch
I’ve found that’s the easiest way, with the gearbox/air box in position

Hi Kev,cpt black wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 3:40 pmSounds like fuel starvation Trev have you check the fuel cut out switch for good connection
as maybe rusted out.if ok check fuel ump by linking out and remove fuel pipe to filter, connect
to a container if ok,then check out line to fpr for flow, then check fpr to fuel rails
Ps
Check fuel light on dash does it work if all ok re check the wiring on the mobby,me and Duncan
had a breaker that woulnd start no fuel light on,1 gallon fuel bled the system start straight up
I will check all of those things, as regards the moby, it was doing this beofore i by=passed the moby. I am leaning towards the fuel. I can't remember if the light comes on for low fuel, as I haven't driven it that much, but I know it goes down as I use it.
It's just very strange that it ran for about 10 mins before cutting out, it did the same to the guys at the paint shop?

The airbox isn't currently connected, so I may look at doing it before I put it all back. Plus all the other stuff I need to try, lol.
I think I will take some fuel with me.

Am I wrong in thinking that this condition is what happens if the 'moby key fob' does not match the code in the ECU ?
So you have to 'reprogram' the system as explained in the Ford workshop manual.

That's the Temic system John, not the Bosch. I don't have to push any buttons now to make it start ( when it was working)

Re: Car starts, then stops after a few minutes
Update Tuesday 17th.I
Please read carefully
I replaced the fuel filter, checking that fuel was getting to the filter first.
I then checked that fuel was getting to the rail, I took the return off, so fuel was coming through
I had changed the dizzy on Saturday night, but I put the previous one back in, as I didn't think it was faulty.
Next I checked for a apart and I got a really good spark
I started the car and it started and ticked over, I left it for about a minute, turned it off.
I then started it again, this time I blipped the throttle, at this point it starts to splutter, missing before stopping
Check for a spark again, still good.
At this point I go to the back of the car, I had been there before when it was ticking over, but this time after the car had stopped, there was a puddle of water on the floor, a proper puddle?
How do I get a puddle of water?
Any ideas as to what the issue is?
How hard is it to drain the tank?
HELP ME PLEASE

You can drain the tank, by using the fuel pump
Take the hose off ( the other end to the fuel filter) put into container
Turn the turn the key, & fuel should flow out

Which is the other end of the fuel filter top of bottom?
