The bottom hose comes from the tank ,

But it may be easier to take the hose that on top of the filter

Have taken ‘experienced advice’ on this issue

Think about ‘ how can water get through’ the exhaust :?: :?: :?:
By- product of the combination process

Or into the cylinder, & pushed through the manifold, by the action of the pistons - ie engine damage - blown head gasket/cracked block :!:

I have to admit, I haven't checked the oil yet, I will do that later today.
I changed the plugs on Saturday, the old ones looked very black
I do have an endoscope I can try.

Would I not loose water in the process? I check the caps and both full. I could try a compression test (if I had one)

Well it looks like my worse fears have been realised, I believe that a head gasket has gone.

I have now lost water, and I collected some in a lot at the end of the exhaust.

I have tried to post a picture but no go at the moment, will try tomorrow

The car ticks over and I even managed to keep it going for a bit, but lots of white vapour out the back of the day

How hard are they to do?

Not too bad.
Will that twice along as 16v, as you have too banks.
There’s not ‘much to these engines’ once you have taken then apart.

Got a sized block in the garden if you want to practice first :!:

For one the Hayes Manual, is good for engine rebuilds

Tip ONE:- Take the bonnet off

I guess it's more the steps to take than anything else, but good idea about the bonnet.

Oh dear, question is , do you do both heads or just the leaking one ?
And always , why has it failed ?
