Bonnet prop clip

Post by fuerte » Fri Jul 23, 2021 2:29 pm

My clip that holds the base of the bonnet prop has gone as they do so it is no longer held in at the base.
I have had a make shift repair done before but I cannot quite remember how.
I think it involved a split pin?
Can someone suggest what to do please?
If there are unicorns and anyone has a proper clip I will happily pay for it.
Cheers in advance
I hope everyone is well. Really busy at the moment. Sunfly I will speak in a couple of weeks

That would make my day. It is my birthday soon so that would be a perfect present. I know they are like rocking horse poo.
Have I great time in Penzance. We used to stay there overnight in the way to the Scilly's.
In the meantime anyone know a temp fix?
I need to check my oil tommorow but I think I can hold it up or put something to rest it on or gaffer tape. It is hot now so I will sleep on it and figure something out
Have a great weekend everyone and stay safe

Hi
Did you have chance to look for that clip.I hope you had a great holiday. You may still be there?
Some peope are breaking so I don,t know whether to ask them.I would probably have the whole unit if I can't get a clip as will be less likely to break.
Take Care eveyone.

My reading glasses are at the opticians but I don't think that is what I need . It is the clip that holds the prop at it's base that is swivels on not the clip you pop it into before shutting the bonnet??

Most of these are now broken.
They get brittle with age
 May be some one with a ‘3D’ printer & the software, could make them
I think there would be a limited market out there for them

Maybe it's something the club could look at having made?
