24v idle high

Post by Chris-p » Tue Jul 20, 2021 7:08 pm

Hi everyone, idle speed seems quite high anywhere between 1000 and 1200 when warm, what are the usual culprits?

Hi Kit thanks,

Can you explain the reasoning behind the coolant level affecting idle?

Chris

Coolant topped up tonight, rubber pipes around throttle checked and seemed reasonable condition.

Idle is sitting 1250 rock solid. Iacv my next port of call?

Hello no, whats procedure for setting it :-)
Helps if you have somebody to sit in the car watching the rev counter while doing this

1st thing you have to run the engine until operating temp,
Stop the engine.
Then you must use a jumper between TEN and GND in the diagnostic box
Restart the car.
Adjust the screw on the top of the throttle body until your engine is running a 700 rpm.
Then shut down remove the jumper wire and then restart,, job done👍

Other members may help if I have got the steps wrong

Check out the oracle how to fine tune your engine. 👍
