Trailing Arm Bushes

I need to have the trailing arm bushes replaced. I have a set of new bushes and will have a garage have a go at it.
I realise this is a very hard task and looking at the bolts they are very rusty.
So they will probably shear off.
I was wondering if there was any type of replacement bolt that can be used to replace the old ones.

Getting that long bolt out undamaged enough to be used again is the problem.
Easy enough to get a new one made but will cost time and money.
THEN , like I keep explaining to people, get some DENSO tape and pack it into the gap round that bolt to stop all the road dirt and salt water
from corroding it away again.

2nd thought.
If you are happy to use a long bolt in place of the long 'stud ' (nut on each end) that will be much easier to buy , via e..y.
It is a standard metric size , high tensile or stainless .

Thanks

Do you know what size it is and where I could buy it. As I'd like to buy before the job is tackled

I think there be M12’s

Stainless would be better, but BZP or Galvanised would be easier to get hold of

I'd recommend getting them from Partsouq: https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine ... d=44534&q=

Got all my parts from there. You have to account for shipping/customs charges but I've found the prices are that low its actually cheaper. Plus its OEM parts. If you are making an order let me know as I'd be happy to share postage and get some parts too.

I am guessing but it is either M14 OR M12 bolts/nuts you will need.
Ebay is your friend here , dirt cheap and instant delivery.
Length you can measure by looking at your car , try to get the plain ,unthreaded length , to be inside the end bush, cut off excess thread sticking out of the nut.

I did look into getting some of these made but no one was interested at the time, or at least, Mark of Probe store was not interested! However, from memory, the shank is M14 and about 210mm long. Threaded at one end. Cant remember if its 12mm or 14 but I think 14. Given its duty, I would want the material to be EN16. (shaft steel)

I did find an unthreaded blank but like I said, no interest at that time. Maybe that will change with time. I'll second Johns comments about the Denso tape.

Thanks for the link to partsouq. Unfortunately they don't have the rear ones( looking from the rear)
Only the front ones. So I will look on eBay.

I think you may have to replace the whole trailer arm, & the bushes alone are not available.
Just make sure the length are the same as the ones you take off.

Try, Rockauto’s in the States for them
