Water ingress

Post by Mondeo55 » Mon Mar 15, 2021 2:18 pm

Car is now sat without a cover at body shop with no interior. Went up today for a progress check and noticed some water ingress on the left side...had run down the left side of bulk head over the front wheel arch and pooled in the foot well.

Does need a new screen as delaminated and cracked driver side.

Any likely or common areas to inspect or likely the screen?

Does it have a sunroof? it could be the drain pipe has come disconnected on that side?

Yes has a sunroof and as I couldn't find the drain pipes I duct tape sealed the sunroof (its having a replacement panel whilst in for paint) so no water could get into the sunroof area which I think rules that out....

You omitted that information in your original post, so you can appreciate why we went with the sunroof option. You have to power the head lining to get to the drain pipes, it still might be worth a look, just to prove that they are connected.

Thanks for response. What do you mean by 'power the head lining?' And yes I think they'll need to be checked to be absolutely sure.

Start by, removing the โ€˜Aโ€™& โ€˜Cโ€™ pillar plastic moulding + the sun visors.
You may find you donโ€™t have to remove the complete roof lining
