At last managed to drop the engine and gearbox out of my Lazer, (getting to old for this)
Now the work will start,
Change clutch,
See where I have the oil leak, (back of engine)
Check why the power steering belt has cut into plastic cam cover, well that was a easy one, bolt missing
Change o ring on dissy, looks like leaking oil in that area.
Clean the engine.
Clean any rust off the front of body work, and paint
Other jobs to do, change a rear brake caliper

No rush, since not going anywhere soon 😏

Well done Malcolm ( and Janice ) , a real achievement , that's £50/hr min at 'garage rates' and the reason why only capable enthusiasts can
keep these cars going.
I can still remember changing the Alpine engine between getting home from work and starting work next day !
Could never have done that with the dear old Probe.

2 bolts missing from cam covers caused the power steering belt to do this and I know I put them in last time I changed the timing belt,, but can't of tighten them correctly 🤔

Work ongoing, removed the power steering bracket t and power steering pump, alternator and bracket,
Cleaned the exterior of the engine block.
Had a issue splitting the gearbox from the engine, (blind as a bat) found a bolt still in😮 now removed and gearbox removed, pressure plate and clutch, changed for new, (stopped for lunch) will torque up this afternoon

Jobs still to do, clean the inside of bell housing before changing the thrust bearing. And clean the exterior of the gearbox.
Won't put the gear box back on the engine today (no rush)

Cleaned power steering pump before refitting it and fitted a new power steering bracket, old one will be cleaned and refurbished and put away in my store.
Alternator cleaned and refit, a refurbished bracket will be fitted once the cam covers are refitted later

Plan to removed IM and both rocker covers today, awaiting delivery of new RTV sealant.
Lunch over m back to work 😊😊

Lovely job Malcolm.
What are you using to stop the drive shaft 'bits' dropping out of line ?

I was thinking the same, I know some use an old drive shaft end
