Brakes

Hi, I’ve never attempted it and I appreciate that it’s a downgrade, but does anyone know what would be involved in grafting a 16v drum brake set up on to a 24v Probe? :P

IF you do that, I think you would find it near impossible to find any insurance company to insure you at 'normal rates'.
It is a major design change.

First - WHY????

Second - I never realised 16 valves have drum brakes

They don't, which is why a 16v has ABS the same as a 24v

US Base models had rear Drum brakes iirc

My Haynes manual says they have got drums, haven’t ever looked at one in person though.

Take it from us, the U.K. 16v doesn't have drums, and why would you want to fit them?
