Post by paulinpoole » Thu Jan 30, 2020 2:53 pm

hi all been a while
theres a breaker yard naer me thats got a seafoam ? green N533 KGP for auction £150 (mine N481 KGP ) :D
really tempted for a heap of donor parts as hard to get down here.
i see its a s3 dizzy so later type engine
would this engine wiring etc go straight into mine 1995 with s1 dizzy or would ecu have to be changed to work or anything else need to be changed ?
need to check out pros and cons before i might bid
thanks for any advice,paul

If £150 is for the whole car, snap it up Paul, parts alone will get you you money back,
Q, have you been down to see it, :?: if so what are the door seal like,
Bodywork looks OK from what I can see :D

No issues with the engine, but be careful with the IM & injection wiring, would be best to keep you MI & wiring.
As for the Dizzy, just keep yours & wiring

So all you really swap, is the block.

Yes, I did try to swap, early/ later, found the plugs etc didn’t work,

Oil sender difference, so may have to swap that as well

i havnt been to see it yet,not going to unfortunately.
went to register online to bid and its a £50 registration fee for 1 year subscription
then cost of car £150 if i was only bidder
then a hammer down charge of £50
then a administration fee of £15
then 20% VAT
phoned them up and that was confirmed right
so not so cheap in the end
so another for the crusher i guess, unless somebody here wants it
gutted :( :(
thanks for your replys guys 8-)

I used to like wandering around Trent's back in the '90s, before all this H&S stuff came in. It was handy being able to browse so many different makes and models to see what I could use to modify my various cars.

Shame we'll never see that sort of scrap yard ever again. :(
