Hi Guys.
Decided to start the probe today. Not started it for about a month during its winter lay up. Throwing up code 51 on the airbag light. Anybody else experienced this after a lay up?
Tia.

Thermal fuse for sure but the question is why? It pops itself to protect the air bag module from another fault that potentially could set the bag off, so you have, or transiently had... another fault...! I'd have to look at the bible, but from memory, I think I'm right in saying the pulling the codes with give you two codes; 51 and the one that caused it. Its the latter you need to know and fix. Given that its happened after a layup, maybe damp causing a short circuit somewhere?

Thanks for the guidance to you both. Replacing the fuse on the circuit board is beyond my skills. Any idea where I can get s module from? Should I ask in the wanted section?
Many thanks

I've checked the bible and a code 51 indicates a short to earth that has come and gone. If it were still there it would give the code for the appropriate fault.

However, I would be concerned about what cause the short in the first place. Maybe a check of the connectors. Don't forget that if it come back it will blow the thermal fuse on your replacement.

I've decided to have a go and replace the thermal fuse. Ordered from amazon £4.75 for 5.
I read the Oracle and its given me the confidence. I'll report back with the outcome.
