Just wondering if this is an issue for anyone else when we have freezing weather ?

I struggle to open the door, then once it is open i cant get it to latch shut again.

I have had this with all my Previous Probes aswell and wondered if anyone has any solutions ? I have removed the lock cleaned and oiled it and that didnt work.

I swear by GT85..it is a water repellant.If you cannot turn your key if lock is frozen put key in and spray gt85 down the key.
I tried wd40 and it didnt work on this probe when I first got the car.

Thanks, I will give the gt85 a try and after that, guess im moving down south

Living in the big city (ish) stops this being an issue
Although weather like last night don't help anyone
Reminds me why I bought a cover,very useful

I swear by Gt85 for locks.I should be on commision.
If lock frozen put key slightly in door lock to open up cover if its still on there and spray gt85 down length of key a couple of times.
If it works just do the same every month to keep on top of it when cold.

WD40 will trash the locks.

'Traditional' WD40 not only removes the water, but also the grease which is used inside the lock as a lubricant, effectively opening it up seizures.

GT85 on the other hand is apparently an oil / lubricant spray, so should work, however I guess any sort of oil-based lubricant should work. I generally use normal vegetable-based cooking oil directly on the key to help lubricate the locks.

The battle is on.This is a joke as I cannot joke in writing so I have to make that point clear.
New probe fest event battle of the lubricants.
But seriously wd40 is good but my current probe had locks that froze solid and wd40 didnt shift it.A mechanic suggested gt85 and I have never looked back.Recently I had the broken cover removed from my jammed lock and I asked a different mechanic to spray with gt85 and he said it was good stuff.
Evidently big in the motorbiking community greasing chains or something.
