I am posting on something I know someone has mentioned numerous times but I forget who and exactly what they said.
Someone said they put grease round rad cap
1.what type of grease
2.exactly where and how.
I am heavy handed, ham fisted and eyesight rubbish close up so before I give it a try I need to male sure I dont end up with grease in my coolant.
I think it was on old site so cannot find the post.
Sorry to ask you to repeat yourself again.

Silicon grease on the rubber seal
Thanks I have wd40 silicon grease in a can I used to use to prevent a porch door sticking but I found it left a residue so I swapped to gt85.
Have I got the right product and how do you apply.
When I used the wd40 version it left a rubbery residue when it dried out.I dont think I need worry about it getting in coolant as sets solid.
Worth a try but I will wait to hear from you or not 7 days before risking it.

Yes, silicone grease , can also be found in plumber merchant shops in little screw top tubs.
Tell them it is for lubricating O-Rings and they will show you what they have in stock.
