Got to be worth checking if that fuel pump is working first , before moving on.
IF it is working , then it will , almost certainly , be the distributor since you have checked the CPS plug and cambelt.

Also check the fuel cut off switch in the boot, wires have known to corroded and short out

Thanks Trev, will see you in the morning.
I checked the fuel cut off and it has not popped but maybe I should remove the trim and check the wiring. It would certainly be good to find out if the pump is working. I don't think it is but not sure how to check for certain. I did have a look at the fuses and they all seem to be ok.

It appears that it is the dizzy, no spark and I could hear the pump running.
