Re: speedo heads
If you mean the whole clocks, then there is a difference, in that the dial goes up higher on the 24v. If it's the actual mechanism then I'm not sure?sockett 1962 ][ wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 7:44 pmare 24v and 16v speedo s interchangerble as sometimes 4 cyl and 6 cyl rev counters could be different

Re: speedo heads
The rev counter gets its pulse from the distributor so I guess the 16 and 24V rev counters must be different which is worth considering if you are changing the whole cluster, but other than top speed "range" I cant think of a reason why the speedo should be different. I think I remember reading that the pickup is on the gearbox - obviously on the final drive.

Re: speedo heads
thanks for replys i have another 24v so think i will swop clocks between them at weekend and see what happens tested speed sensor and get a voltage so thought either clock or wiring between them
Re: speedo heads
not sure,
but i think there may be a slight difference between early and late cars?
not actually noticeable untill you connect them up and i think the oil or alternator readings sometimes do not work properly????
but might just be the ones that ive had???
