Re: Brake fluid change
Be careful there. What was good enough 20 years ago has lasted 20 years. The 'modern' stuff can contain ingredients which are not compatible with the 'old' components in the system. I appreciate that, but I've dipped it with a tester pen and its showing atleast 4% water (the highest reading on the ...

Brake fluid change
Hey guys,
So I'm guessing the brake fluid in the car hasn't been changed for about 20 years(!!). Its recommended dot 3, however, am I best putting dot 5.1 in purely because its "newer"? I've tried googling it a lot and cant find any good information. I just drive it normally.
Thanks,

Re: Rear quarter panel and new glass
The glass atm is going weird - Its like water is getting into it and creating cloudy bits. Its not major, but it looks unsightly and I'd be happier making it all look brand spanking new. What do you mean by "hatch glass still in place"? Is that £50 for all the glass? :D Might just try closing my eye...

Rear quarter panel and new glass
Hey, I've got a bit of rust on the right rear quarter panel and was wondering whats the best way to go about fixing it? Getting new fenders is no problem but I cant find second hand rear panels anywhere. Are there any other panels that will fit (mx6, 626 etc)? Also I want to replace all the glass. I...

Re: Checked ABS error codes now car wont start!
Its a 1995 2.0l 16v.
The immobiliser worked before - It flashed red, pressed the fob, went solid red then off. Then the car would start like a dream. Now it just turns, sparks, you can smell the petrol, but something just isnt playing ball.

Re: Checked ABS error codes now car wont start!
Any other thoughts? If the immobiliser packs in, what actually happens? Nothing? Or does it still allow the engine to turn, just not start?

Checked ABS error codes now car wont start!
Hey guys, pulling my hair out. Everything was running fine apart from the ABS light was on. Followed the advice for getting the ABS error codes and now the car wont start. The engine turns over but nothing electronic seems to happen. Checked the battery - thats fine. A few other points: - We reset t...

Re: Diagnostic Link
Hey guys,
I've tried this with the abs linking GND to TBS. I turned the ignition one step too far and now the engines turning but won't start. Any help?
Extra Info: When pressing the Immobiliser fob the red light flashes - It doesnt go solid as it used to do.

Re: 1995 2.0 litre transmission
Any chance someone could help sourcing radiator hoses? All the sites online are American, and all the british ones dont have stock. Any help greatly appreciated again.
Thanks,
