Inner boots are easy to replace, you don't even need to remove the drive shaft from the the car. :) Don't let any garage tell you otherwise :o Simply split the inner joint, undo the hub/strut bolts. The one at the front, is the reverse light switch, near the gear box oil filler/level plug. Just looked under the cams of the scrap engine in the garden (one day I'll get round to finding out why it seized) Normal multi sided socket should do it, just be a tight fit to get maximum contact area on the bolt.
