Re: Fuel pump
Yes, starts fine when warm. I replaced the regulator and the solenoid yesterday. No difference.

Actually, haven't replaced lambda sensors.
Anyone know where I can get a couple?

Re: Fuel pump
It's odd. Once going, it runs OK, if Smokey. Getting it going is the problem. Cranks, with spark and fuel, but won't catch when cold. Replaced fuel filter, plugs, leads, fuel regulator, MAF, fuel pump, dizzy. Can't think of anything else to change!! Just in case it jogs someone's memory. Rev counter...

Smoking
Related to my previous post on the fuel pump, but I thought I'd do it separately in case it helped someone else. Having had my '95 2.5 running yesterday for the first time in over a year, it was smoking like a bandit. It was still smoking after 30 minutes of idling! (although not as badly) Do we thi...

Re: Fuel pump
Pleased to hear you're making progress. Some cars seem to fight you back sometimes. The leak behind the dizzy might be the bottom pipe from the radiator. The rubber hose pushes over a metal pipe which runs up under and behind the dizzy. It has a push fit at the top with an O ring that fits into the...

Re: Fuel pump
It's running (sort of). After relying on my mechanic's advice and diagnosis got me exactly nowhere, my father-in-law and I decided to go back to basics. Diagnosis revealed 6 gunked up and knackered spark plugs. All 6 replaced and Japha sprang into life. (Yippee) Came back to workshop this morning an...

Re: Fuel pump
Had similar problems a few years ago. My problem was the immobiliser wiring. I'd done the moby bypass. But the fuel pump wire about an inch back from the moby plug was breaking down. There was enough there for the fuel pump to work, but not enough to fuel the engine properly. I'll keep this in mind...

Re: Window washers not working
Motor replaced by simply removing the inner wheel liner.
For info, the motors from both front and rear washer bottles are interchangeable, and it is the same motor as was used in the Capri Mk3!

Re: Fuel pump
I had thought about one of those, but I don't have a garage (or at least won't have a garage soon) as I'm planning a house extension over where the garage currently sits.
I do, however, have access to a set of posts, but the scrapper is currently minus any running gear!
