Is the CPU fusebox that is located inside the car the same on both a 2.0 and 2.5 models.

I think there the same, but early cars have more features, like seat belt chimes, etc

I assume the bulb is wired into the loom ie it doesn't unplug.

To replace it do you need to cut the wire and replace with a new connection.

Yes, I think it was wired into the loom.
In the photos, wiring was damaged when it was removed.

Sounds like the short handbrake cable has snapped Paul

Take the black bit off the top of the Handbrake lever, & see if the adjuster bolt is loose
