Re: Removal of Tailgate

I’ve removed a couple so if we can find a time I could pop over to lend a hand as it is definitely a 2 person job. Half term break is not too far off so that could be a possibility

Re: Replacrment 1998 2.0 16v engine

Not a tech, especially when it comes to 16v but I would of thought that the basic block, head, etc are the same which is the key bit if replacing a smoker.

Ancillaries May be different, but you could just swap these off the old engine.

Re: Breakdown

Shall we pencil in Saturday as the forecast is for reasonable weather. I could be over around 9-10 which will give plenty of time to get things done if that suits you.

Re: Breakdown

Make sure you have a supply of coolant/antifreeze to refill and if you can spray some WD40 around the bolts in that area to,give it a few days to work in that would be good.

I assume you have a hosepipe to hand for flushing the rad.

Re: Breakdown

Any of those times will work but on the afternoons I will be limited by needing to pick by daughter up from Branson - I need to check the exact times with her which I will be able to do when I get back.

Re: Breakdown

I did the alternator on my MX6 and it was a radiator out job to give access - other than the extra work that entails it was pretty straightforward. You're my friend justin....when are you free ? I've got an unknown spare from an Xedos in my shed .... :D Summer holidays, so basically I’m free once I...
