According to the wiring diagram the rec counter is connected to the ignition coil in the distributor. So I'd think that the problem is with the ignition coil especially as it happens more when warm. The car runs fine as the counter falls out of sync, only noticeable thing is that the secondaries don’t open as the revs never get high enough to ‘activate’ them. Usually kicks in/opens at 4000RPM.

No misfires or anything like that, tick over is all good etc.

It’s back! Took the car out today and the issue returned….I think Lazy was the wrong word rather inaccurate or out of sync suit better…..when it’s cold it’s perfect but as the car gets to temperature it slowly ‘fades’.
