Re: ABS problem

If all else fails I do have one BUT the cable is only 6 inches long.
It can be spliced onto the existing cable by twisting the wires together NOT SOLDERED.
I can supply all the heat shrinks to make it a good job.
A £3 postage stamp gets it to you.

Re: ABS problem

There are only four ways these items can fail.
1/ By the stainless can being crushed by rust.
2/ The can being damaged on removal
3/ The 'sticky-out' peg being damaged by a stone, etc
4/ The cable being damaged
Which one caused yours to fail ?

The 'killer test' is the pull-away after a long 50mph downhill stretch with foot off the accelerator .

Re: Timing Belt and water pump replacement

And lastly , everyone needs to know this.
IF you over-tighten the screws that hold the tensioner in place and it snaps off in the engine block , I have the only piece of kit IN THE WORLD ,
that will allow you to remove the piece left in the hole.........without removing the engine.
Remember.

Re: Battery tray

This was my first 'mod' to the dear old Probe , just so that a standard -075 battery would fit without the terminal problem. Basically , you make a flat platform out of aluminium plate to replace the plastic tray. This drops the battery enough to prevent problems. I sent the detailed drawing to Paul...

Re: Immobiliser

Curiosity would have me take the lid off that and look inside.
It is just a coil with a pair of really heavy contacts , something must be badly wrong for that one to fail.
I have a good spare if you need another.

Re: Immobiliser

Just a little clarification on what you have done to get it working. I think you have replaced relay K51, the relay that feeds power to the Power Control Module , everything 'engine ' needs that , to work. The ignition circuit needs that AND a separate , very secure circuit , with no easily accessib...

Re: Immobiliser

If it is running that is good news .
A bit odd that the IGN relay didn't work , they are normally never fail items....................
Main thing is , you solved it, well done.

Re: Immobiliser

As Sunfly , if the starter motor turns then it is most UNLIKELY there is anything wrong with the Temic or Immobiliser unit. So , it is either that cps connection OR the distributor. Just be very careful NOT to have any spark plug unconnected to earth when you check for a spark. Open circuits in the ...
