I have removed the filler plug on the transaxle.The washer won't detach from the plug am I right in assuming you cut it off. Also should I replace it with a copper or aluminium washer.

Are the crush washers on the drain and fill plugs the same size as the sump lug. If not what size are they

Should the gearbox/transaxle oil be changed as a matter of routine maintenance.
I shouldn't think mine has ever been changed.

There is a item in the oracle about removing a steering rack in which it mentions dropping the subframe. Ive looked in the Haynes manual which said to drop the subframe and also in the Chilton's manual which doesn't. All a bit confusing.

Hi I am trying to remove the wheel well covers and have removed the bolts. However the other fixings are of the press fastener type with a cross head screw in the centre(plastic). When turning the centre screw it won't withdraw . is there a trick as to how to remove these if not can they be drilled ...

Ford Probe 1994 2.0 16v
I've read a lot of details about the correct oil for the 16v.
When you look online there are various brands and descriptions.
So would Shell Helix HX7 10w/40 semi synthetic be OK to use on a 1994 16v.

Also are the hydraulic valve lifters the same for 16 v and 24v
