Re: Airbag light

I’ve got an intermittent problem with the airbag light flashing, it’s not all the time but is starting to happen more often, it flashes 5 times then pauses then flashes 3 times. Any advice would be appreciated, cheers Check out the Oracle technical database are the 5 flashes long flashes followed b...

Re: Distributor removal problem.

That seems to be a bit over top top just to remove the dizzy, I never changed one on a 16v but only 24v's even then when it wouldn't pull out I've just gave it a gentle tap with my leather hammer. Sound like the rocker cover gasket needs changing it 2 plugs have oil in, remove the plugs as normal th...

Re: Engine light

As Kev says the easy way remove the radiator, but I'm not one for the easy way, when I've changed my alternator I've done it the other way, by removing the plastic under tray, then removing the 4 bolts that hold the a/c compressor then push it to one side, then remove the alternator. I don't like me...

Re: Rear Brakes

Hi all, I'm still struggling to get my 97 24v back on the road. Mot failure - 'foot brake effort low - rear'. I've replaced the calipers, discs and pads and it doesn't seem any better and the handbrake is not great now either. Is it down to adjustment at the calipers or what else might you suggest ...

Driving lamps

I said it before "I'm a fish out of water when I come to car electrics" 🤣 A couple of week ago a fellow golfer said the only one driving lamps was on when pulling in to the car park, I said oh I must have be driving with the full beam on, so later put the main beam on and sure enough on the driver s...

Re: Number 3 setting on the heater not working ?.

I understand that no 3 may out be working, but don't just change it because one speed is not working, yes find a replacement, but I would run with 1,2 & 4 working, its not that often I even use no3 speed Plus at the end of the day you may have to do a rewire to fit a 4 block resistor if you can't fi...

Re: Number 3 setting on the heater not working ?.

Not a bad job to change, just need to be flexible to get to the two screws, short handle screwdriver. I've just tested a few of my spares, to find a good one for Slick, (working on all 3 settings) 4 is always live, I have found that a couple of them don't work on no 3. I did manage two but a couple ...

Re: Flat battery, any ideas ?

Cant remember what year your car is, but the early models had a engine light under the bonnet, that sometimes stays on, if its a early model remove the blub, it's useless anyway.
