Re: Defeated
As before, the thinner the better but , however the cut starts that is how you carry on, NO twisting allowed.
And gently, no sudden movements or pressing while you're cutting.

Re: Retro fitting of Cruise Control
You really need a copy of the speed control diagram.
PM me and I'll send you one.
You will be pleased to know the Cruise control is a 'stand-alone' system, not connected to the ECU.

Was that an original wishbone , or a replacement ? I found the rubber boots split on two replacement wishbones after a years use (16,000miles) which wrecked the ball-joint of course. So, I always fitted a thin stainless washer over the boot so that the gap of the clamp area couldn't tear the boot as...

Re: Power steering cooling pipe
When it happened to me I simply connected the return pipe to the other side of the reservoir, not quite as easy as it sounds though. Also, I was surprised at how hot the system runs , so be careful. The very position of the cooling pipe makes it a 'big' job to get access to replace it. My intention ...

Re: 24V Hesitation
Have you tried spraying WD40 over all of the plug leads , especially where they all bunch up together ?
Or, looking under the bonnet when it is really dark , just look for blue sparks anywhere !

Lovely news Bob, really pleased it's fixed.
Well done for pursuing the crank sensor as the reason for failure.
In the end though, that was 'mechanical' failure rather than any 'electronic' component and just shows how important it is to get everything back together perfectly.
