Re: Starting issue - maybe!

Misfiring can also destroy the catalyst. The unburnt fuel goes down the exhaust pipe and the cat does its stuff. In burning it off it gets extremely hot and eventually melts into blobs which can then block the rest of the exhaust system, in my experience with a Rover 214. In my mates experience it s...

Re: Help Please, No Brakes.

I think I have an explanation for this master cylinder failure. When the calipers were bled the full stroke of the pedal was used, which never happens in normal driving. The rubbers in the master cylinder moved over a part of the bore that hasn't been touched in a long time and has some rusting (bra...

Re: 1995 2l manual transmission name?

The Haynes book says it is designated G25M-R but doesn't differentiate between 2l and 2.5l
The Ford book doesn't give a designation at all and the only differences mentioned are 3rd, 4th, 5th and final drive ratios differ between the engines.
1st, 2nd and reverse are the same

If it did any good I would have thought the car manufacturer would use it or the oil companies would put the magic ingredients in their products

Re: Struggling Starter Motor

I have never been a fan of lubricating the sliding bit of the starter, the lubricant picks up clutch dust to make a thick paste which makes matters worse. I would check and clean all the electrical connections first particularly the earth strap from engine to body, and the connection from battery to...

I posted them as 5 separate photos as I don't know how to do otherwise.
They are not in the right order but you should be able to turn them round and shuffle them.
Happy Christmas,
