How to fit an outer CV joint.

Hi, More help needed with my MX-6 2.5 V6 Automatic. When i removed the drive shafts to change the boots i took one of them apart by removing the circlip from the tri-ball joint but the right side shaft came apart at the outer joint, the shaft simply pulled out of the CV joint without effort so i mus...

Re: Inner CV boot 2.5 V6 Auto

Hi Kit. Thanks for the offer but i need(ed) two. I did some searching again based on the part number of yours, it seems it fits a Toyota among other things. It certainly looks right in the picture although based on the dimensions i found for it it's not as long as i thought i needed. Today i looked ...

Inner CV boot 2.5 V6 Auto

Hi Guys, I need some help finding the transmission end CV boots for my Mazda MX-6 2.5 V6 Auto. Does anyone know a part that will fit? My local parts place can't find any, i got a Mazda part number and bought an aftermarket parts that was listed as being suitable but it doesn't fit. The joint is a sl...

Re: Adding bluetooth to Mazda Mx-6

Thanks Micron.

I'm going to have one more go at eliminating the noise through my current setup and if it doesn't work i will ditch it and go for one of the units you've shown. When i want to the car to look standard i can just take it out and put it in the glove box.

Thanks.

Re: Adding bluetooth to Mazda Mx-6

Well I still have the iPhone with a 3.5mm socket but a Bluetooth receiver that plugs in to a 3.5mm aux socket could be used with the fm modulator. It’s a bit messy though. I guess there aren’t enough people like me that want an old cassette player with hidden Bluetooth to make it worth selling somet...

Re: Adding bluetooth to Mazda Mx-6

The Bluetooth would be for music from my phone. I’ve looked at Bluetooth fm transmitters that plug in to the lighter socket. So far I’ve discounted them because of how they look and various reviews on how reliable the signal is. There’s another type called an FM modulator that plugs in line with the...

Adding bluetooth to Mazda Mx-6

Hi Guys, This question relates to an MX-6 which does't have an onboard amp like the Probe. I finally found a Mazda dealer original radio cassette brand new and boxed, it only took a year to find. I wanted to add bluetooth and maybe upgrade the sound so i bought an amplifier with high and low level i...

Re: It worked before I took it apart!

I’ve fixed it :D While out on my first drive in 3 months (in my daily) I was thinking about what would stop fuel going in and thought about the MAF sensor. Got home popped the bonnet and it wasn’t plugged in! When I disassembled to change cam cover gaskets I put coloured tape on everything I disconn...

Re: It worked before I took it apart!

Thanks Jon. I will try that this afternoon. I checkEd the TPS because it had been removed from the TB, although I had been careful to put it back in the same place. Haynes said to remove TPS but I now see it probably wasn’t necessary. Fingers crossed your procedure will get it working. I might have ...
