Re: oh wot fun 95 temic system new key

With a temic normal operation is it will start, then check the key, if the key check fails the engine shuts down.

Crank position sensor I a probable cause. Disconnect the plug by the crank pulley, clean it and reconnect. Then try starting it.

Checking the codes would be a good starting point.

Re: Bad news at the pump

Ethanol attracts water, this is the big problem, thought our plastic tanks will be fine. The fact ethanol combines with water is one way to remove it, add water and float off the water ethanol mix, practice for motorbikes, but not cars. Premium fuel will be staying at E5, though at the moment it is ...

In the state, many Probe owners, blank the EGR off :)

Kit
Mine is for show only, gasket replaced with solid copper gasket. Code 16 is blanked out in my ecu too.

Re: Code 16 EGR

Right hand side looking from the front, bolted to the rear head. Round, about 3inches across, an electrical connector, a vacuum line and a coolant hose connected to it.

Re: Code 16 EGR

There is also a solenoid involved. Usual problems with them, broken nipple or brittle pipe work. The valve itself can jam up with carbon.

Re: Code 16 EGR

The valve and sensor are on the back of the engine on the left side, actually the cylinder head, so at the top.

Just checked the mot and it says front to back and above rear crossmember. Will check when I get the car out of storage.

Cheers Duncan.

Corroded Fuel Pipes 24V.

Have an advisory for corroded fuel pipes, specifically above the rear sub frame. How do people deal with this?

Painting if not too bad. I doubt new pipes are available. I have cut out sections of rigid line and replaced with rubber hose in the past.

Cheers.
