Re: Starting issue - maybe!

I have been researching the distributors that are available from the USA, they all seem to use the same picture, they are claimed to be new, they are clones made in China. there is positive feed back if that's worth anything. Some are compatible up to 1995 other from 1996 onward, I assume the earlie...

Re: Starting issue - maybe!

Thanks for that, I have had another non start, this time on Aldi car park, it started eventually, I wiggled the connector under the bonnet, I don't know if that had any effect. Two things I have notice regarding the rev counter, when there is a no start situation the rev counter needle does not move...

Re: Starting issue - maybe!

I am sorry to interrupt your conversation but when you are referring to the CPS connector are you talking about the one under the bonnet under the coolant hose or the one under the car? I ask this because I am currently experiencing a hesitation /cutting out problem on my car, the other night it wou...

cam cover gaskets

I am at the point of ordering a set of cam cover gaskets. I am looking at a company on Ebay, Motorseamus; but they state that they are USA spec. When I click compatibility it says they are not compatible.
Advise anybody on the best supplier ?

Thanks
John

Re: 24V Hesitation

When I first had my car, about five years ago now it had this slight fluffing type of misfire just has I opened the throttle, new spark plugs did not cure it but new plug leads did. If you have access to a multimeter check the resistance of the leads they should not be more than about 5K per foot. w...

Re: heater resistor for 96 probe

Heater resistor fault is that the cause of the heater blower not working in some positions? My blower only works at the minimum and maximum speed.

Re: petrol smell on start up.

Thanks for the information, the car is due for a service soon, the brake light comes on under braking,it looks like the pads will need changing so it could be checked at the same time.

petrol smell on start up.

I have noticed a petrol smell when first starting up, it does not last long and can't be smelt once the car is moving. I have looked in the engine compartment on start up, no smell or signs of the leak, no sign of fuel leak anywhere. The fuel consumption has not increased. My suspicion is that it my...

Re: clutch worn

Thanks for that, I had thought £95 was too cheap to be any good obviously not. You labour price seems reasonable.
