Copy key
From my understanding a non-programmed key would be able to unlock the car doors, would it also be able to start the car with the immobiliser removed?

Re: Copy key
Is your car an early car and has or had the Bosch Immobiliser like Malcolm mentioned?
If you have a later car, then it will have a TEMIC system, which means you will need the correct key, that can be programmed to match the Temic, it will however still unlock the doors.

Believe it’s an early car. 1995 with non colour matched wing mirrors. Haven’t got the immobiliser to hand but believe it was a black Bosch unitMicron wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 3:07 pmIs your car an early car and has or had the Bosch Immobiliser like Malcolm mentioned?

Re: Copy key
Sounds like you just need a basic key, just make sure it's the correct length, see if they can use a Mazda one.CharlesUK wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 8:17 pmBelieve it’s an early car. 1995 with non colour matched wing mirrors. Re: Copy key
What kind of keyless entry do you have, not that it will make any difference or effect whatever key you have.

Re: Copy key
Not sure, it’s a separate black fob with a button to unlock and a panic button. I wasn’t aware of a factory option but have seen some people talking about the online?

Re: Copy key
We may need pictures, UK models didn't get factory fitted keyless entry, that was only the US (I believe). Even if they did, your replacement key wouldn't affect it, as you have a separate fob.
