Airbag light

Post by Caprobe » Tue Dec 06, 2022 11:38 am

I’ve got an intermittent problem with the airbag light flashing, it’s not all the time but is starting to happen more often, it flashes 5 times then pauses then flashes 3 times. Any advice would be appreciated, cheers

Check out the Oracle technical database are the 5 flashes long flashes followed by 3 fast flashes if so that would indicate code 53 SRS control module, failure -- SRS control module.

I had a issue on my 16v MRP, if I get in the car and turn the key to start the car without waiting for the air bag light to go out, it will start flashing, but if I waiting until the air light goes out then start the car I don't have the issue.
Give that ago and see what happens.

Letting the light go out first makes no difference, but I made a mistake, it’s 5 flashes followed by 2 flashes all are the same speed, I’ve just sat with it running for about 5 minutes and it’s gone off itself, could a week/faulty battery have anything to do with it as it’s taking a bit of winding to get it started? Thanks

It could be the capacitors that need replacing, because as you say they are taking some time to charge
