24V 1994 Probe ABS Codes

Hi all,

We're back to trying to work out why ABS fault codes continue to be a problem, because MOT is now overdue.

Cleared codes and still getting codes 12 ,13, 14 (wheel sensors) after changing all 4 sensors (all new!), actuator (second hand) and control module (second hand).

Wondering if we've done something stupid on the installation or missed a crucial step. Is there a way to test if the control module is OK? Or maybe it's a broken wire somewhere.

Appreciate any pointers.

And is there any way to disable to ABS light so we can get it MOT'd while we continue to play this "find the ABS problem" game?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

How did you reset the codes?
was the ABS module the correct one for your car, as there are differences.
As for disabling the light, the fact that it doesn't light up i the first place should make it a failure as far as the MOT goes.

Have you tried to clean the area around the ABS sensor, to ensure that the ABS ring is clean?

Hi,

Thanks for your speedy reply :D

To reset the codes we disconnected battery earth, pressed brake pedal for 30secs and reconnected battery. All codes were gone. Drove it for 25 km and we were celebrating and then the ABS light came back - codes 12, 13, 14 back

Module we bought from Mark back in the day. Both were Sumitomo.

Cleaning the sensor ring on each wheel - will give it a go, clear codes and cross fingers ...
