Radiator cap

Post by CharlesUK » Sat May 17, 2025 5:03 pm

I’m ordering a replacement radiator cap, the second coolant cap nearer engine is very perished on the black seal under cap but can’t seem to find a replacement. Are these parts available?

All you need is a small piece of Viton sheet , 1mm thick,
Pull that perished bit of rubber washer off the cap.
Make new one out of your viton sheet.
Make the centre hole little bit smaller than that centre cap , so that you have to stretch it to fit under it
Jo done.

Forgot to say , everyone.
Always smear a trace of silicone grease on the rubber gasket before twisting it down AND
make sure the metal seat is really smooth too.
That is what tears the gasket when you undo the cap
It's the detail, that matters.
