I have to admit that it's not the best picture to see what you are referring to!
From what I can remember, I don't remember the nut you are talking about, from what I can remember, you fight with the seals and pistons, then once pushed in by hand, it should meeting the shaft in the centre, which you then wind on the the piston using the 4mm Allen key.
If you can get some better pictures that would be great.

Hi,
A difficult one to convey so I apologise for that
Basically I want to know how far to seat/screw down this “nut” that I’ve labelled. I’ve drawn option 1 or option 2 (opt 2 being fully seat)
Any confusion do let me know haha

I am still at a slight loss in respect to the nut, when you look at the piston, is there a threaded part which the that shaft in your drawing will screw into, because all I ever remember in the body is a circlip, which can be a pain to get out, but has to be removed to renewal the seals, unless your callipers are of a different style?

Ok so it’s more of a push into the piston rather than screw/thread. There are no threads on the inside of the piston (image)

Maybe the nut should be fitted into the piston, which would allow the piston to be screwed on to the post in the body?

Ok so I think I’ve got it…
Taken the nut/screw-in piece out as it had to be tapped into the piston, then screwed it into the resus. Issue was that it had to be tapped or pressed into the piston and was a tight fit.
Seems to be working just need to follow prior posts to tighten the slack. Thanks again

That arrangement still looks strange to me, but maybe it's just a different manufacture?

Interesting, when looking online I found a few variants of mechanism so wasn’t sure. Thanks for that
The handbrake now works I just need to correct the 15+ clicks to get it on the road

The rear brake will always fail-safe , ie work.
Problem will occur when you release the handbrake .
It won't.
Because the little shaft seal leaks , allowing water/sallt to corrode ,etc.
THAT IS WHY YOU NEED THE........................DENSO tape .

and that`s why I`ve bought two rolls of Denso tape earlier this week, got to have plenty in store
