Re: Strange knock.....update
Drop links will definitely cause an erratic knock. Easy and cheap to change. Check the roll bar bushes too.

Re: Central locking
I had a similar problem with a stiff lock drivers side, in fact the key refused to go fully home so I couldnt open or lock from the drivers side. I took the lock out completely and took it apart, cleaning all the fingers till they moved freely. Put it all back together and it all works beautifully. ...

Re: Handbrake Failure
handbrake, even when properly adjusted is crap. How it passes I do not know but it wont hold the car on a steep gradient. Rear calipers are nothing but trouble too. Handbrake lever Siezing up being the big issue and that might be worth checking. I never use it unless I have to, i.e. a car behind me ...

Re: NOx value for Probe 24v 1997
I dont live anywhere near London but if I did I think I would try and fix the problem with a change of mayor next year. Send a message to all the other tinpot dictators waiting to see how far he can push people arownd at the same time. It wouldnt be so bad if they were putting the money back into th...

Heavy gear change
The flying machine has gradually been getting harder to get into gear. It seemed to get heavier over winter so worse for the lay up suggesting water contamination in the oil. Low gears are worst but all are affected. Obviously it’s a fault with the synchro but I’m suspecting the oils got a bit stodg...

Re: Lazy rev counter
After hitting a big hole like that :o I would be more worried about wheel , steering & suspension damage :x Kit Me too! Recently I hit a pothole and wiped out the tyre and wheel on the Jag. Fitted the space saver and ten miles on I then wiped out the tyre and wheel on the space saver too. Now I'm £...

Re: Early Probe immobiliser issues
Bob, in 1994 Ford introduced their repair for life for free scheme , those dissy repairs should not have cost you a penny. Was that the case ? Hi John. It most certainly was not. That’s the first time I’ve ever heard of that. All repairs bar the first were paid for by me. I fell. Out with garage th...

Re: Early Probe immobiliser issues
I bought M939FDF from new in 1994 with 81 miles on the clock. I had it for 14 years and did 285k miles, less 81 miles in it. I believe that to be a record mileage. In that time it went through 7 distributors, or - when you could get them - repair kits (coil and Hall Sensor components) all new from F...

Re: Paintwork help
Looks like a residue to me rather than sun damage because of the dripping and streaking. If so it might polish out, That said, just after I'd had the bonnet resprayed last year because of bleaching, a bird did the biggest, blackest dump you've ever seen and I didn't notice it till it was too late. I...
