Thanks, it looks like it’s as it should be and the Ford technician at my local garage was mistaken.
It’s the original calliper and not as bad as it looks but ‘out of sight etc’
If I get the engine bay looking clean it might be in with a chance!

No, not the slide pins. It’s the main fixing bolt at the bottom of the calliper, below the bleed nipple. Part no 2W303. Ford shop manual page 06-03-3 says they should be installed before installing the bolt so maybe they are supposed to have the top open to allow access to the bolt head but it seems...

Front brake calliper bolt
Is anyone familiar with the dust boot for this bolt?
Both of mine are just cylinders with an open top which doesn’t look right, especially when compared with the rear ones which are complete caps.
They don’t look as though they have been cut off so any suggestions?

Hi all, Flash Code 13 I had flash code 51 which failed the MOT. I had the thermal fuse replaced and plugged the connectors in (but did not reattach unit to the chassis). I now have flash code 13 which I assume caused the fuse to blow. One of the connectors under the driver's seat has become disattac...
